Sylvia Khouri is a 16-year old trumpet player based in Dublin, California. She has been playing trumpet for 7 years and currently plays in the SFJazz High School All Stars Big Band and co-principal in the California Youth Orchestra Senior Orchestra. She also plays lead at her school's jazz band, principal in wind ensemble, and in the top combo. As a versatile classical and jazz musician, Sylvia would love to share with you all the knowledge she's gained from her experiences! Lessons would include traditional trumpet pedagogy from books such as the Clarke's Studies and Collins Advanced Lip Slurs, jazz improvisation, orchestral excerpts and classical repertoire and more! This is her 3rd year teaching and she is excited to be doing it through the Young Musicians Collective. Other than trumpet, Sylvia enjoys producing, singing, songwriting, reading, and running!
